Chalazion excision

CalazioChalazion is a cyst located in the lid caused by a chronic inflammation of meibomian glands following a chronic obstruction of the excretory duct of the former. Chalazion excision becomes necessary when medical treatment and lid massage do not lead to resolution. Excision is performed in day surgery using a small anaesthetic injection. The eye is blindfolded only on the day of surgery. Suture is removed within 7-10 days.
